A Busy Mind-Map Means A Busy Month

November will be an interesting and varied month for Onlinevents! 

It started off with John running 10K for Mind Charity on Saturday in Stranraer.  We were very proud of him and he was very proud of himself too.

Today we have an interview with Jacci & Sarie from Creating A Change We are really looking forward to the interview.  If you would like to follow them on twitter - @C_A_Change.  We were chatting on twitter, enjoying the way the internet allows you to interact with each other as we have not met in person as yet.

This is shown so much in the events we facilitate at Onlinevents, how close we can all feel even though we are all in different locations.

Later this month we have our FREE Working With Anxiety Conference   There will be people attending at the venue in Edinburgh and Online via our website www.onlinevents.co.uk   If you would like to join us we would love to see you at Edinburgh or in the chat room if you are viewing online.

CESL Conference pictures

 No two events with Onlinevents are the same!  Thats what makes what we do so interesting.   For example previously I wrote about an online virtual conference CESL.  What a great time we had, even fire works ended the conference! I promised some pictures....

I have....and i really enjoyed it.  We have live streamed many workshops and conferences to our website www.onlinevents.co.uk so people from all over the world can watch a conference as it takes place in a particular venue.  But what is also very exciting, we have live streamed virtual conferences.

Second Life Conference Venue

Second Life virtual conferences are where you - right click to sit down...click the button to turn your voice off and teleport straight to the venue from the comfort of your own home. What is so exciting is the organizers....the speakers.....and the attendees all log in from their own location.  All over the world!

FREE Conferences, Online Workshops, new logo video.......Its all happening

Since my last blog we have added a new FREE conference - Working With Anxiety  After sending out the information email, we got our first venue attendee right away.  Then more tickets came in. Onlinevents feel very excited and appreciative of delegates willing to take part and presenters giving their time.  As this is a new way for us to have conferences available to everyone.

As the conference will be attended online and free to attend at the venue, it allows delegates to get a taste of what is presented without huge costs to themselves.  Of course opening it up to a worldwide audience where we can all meet and enjoy the learning experience no matter where we are.

How can we provide conferences for FREE?

This is what is so exciting about how this will work.  We have our sponsors to fund the conference.  For every seat they sponsor, we can provide a free venue ticket, as there is obviously a cost needed to rent the venue and provide equipment.

Also as someone purchases a CPD certificate, we also can release a venue ticket.  Take a look at the sponsors for the Working with Children Conference as an example CLICK HERE

If you have something you feel you would like to promote or advertise this way, please let us know and we can provide you with further information.  There will be many more conferences ahead, so plenty of opportunity for small businesses, workshops, publishers to have some advertising space at our conferences.

Social Networking and Our Online Conferences

When John & I were talking about how many people that have registered for Working with Children and Young People Conference, we realized most of these tickets were booked though information sent though social networks.

We have been Tweeting & posting on FB about the conference.  Already we have 29 people registered for the venue and 12 people registered online.  

We are very excited to have met presenters from Creating a Change online.  As our conferences will be streamed LIVE online its very exciting to see the interaction from the very start, the organizing the planning and the talk about the conference all happening online.

We are really excited about this as Onlinevents works online,  we know how connected we are, even though we work from different locations.  

There are so many great things ahead for Onlinevents and lots of social networking too!

Recovery Conference

We were very pleased to be part of Simpson House Recover Conference on 2nd June 2012.   The conference was streamed live from our website www.onlinevents.co.uk We had 22 people joining in online.  As we have a chatroom, this allows them to chat to each other, but also to be involved in the venue discussion also. 

There were a few technical issues at the start of the conference, but within no time we were off to a great start at 10AM. 


When the delegates in the venue spent time discussing the workshop tasks, our online audience also took part and gave their views and comments to the workshop facilitator who shared them with the audience.  The workshop facilitator also spent some time to type into the chat room the task set out.



Refreshments

For those who were at the venue, they were enjoying a nice ice-lolly for break.  Online delegates needed to provide their own refreshments :) 

We also were joined by Sibling Support in the chat room.  Based in Australia, their contribution to the conference was their Video, played to delegates online and in the venue.  We were very moved to be sharing such important resources and feeling so connected even though we were miles apart geographically

As you can imagine there was a lot of social networking going on also during the conference.  We used many different #hashtags to tweet about the conference.  Often this is a very exciting part of having a conference being streamed online.

At the end of the conference Glenn from Simpson House summarised what will be taken from this conference discussion and the exciting things ahead, thanking everyone involved.

Sponsor Seating Plan

As our next events approach, we are trying a new way to sponsor the conferences allowing delegates to attend for FREE.   We are encouraging organisations to sponsor a seat at our conference in return for their logo to be added to the seating plan, advertising on the venue & online programme along with adverts on the live streaming page.

You can see form the picture some seats already sponsored.  This is an example of the sponsors for Working With Children & Young People Conference  Some seats have already been sponsored by Manchester Institute for psychotherapy kindly sponsoring the first 41 seats.

We feel excited about enabling people to join in at very low cost to themselves, travel, food & accommodation for example.  In this time of economic difficulty, it allows delegates to have a taste of what is available without having to eat into funds needed to attend other conferences.

For every seat that is sponsored, we make available a new seat.  Also for every CPD certificate that is purchased, again a seat becomes available.  As the event will also be streamed online at the same time, this allows delegates from all over the world and anyone who cannot travel to Scotland, to join in and participate.

We already have speakers planned for this conference, and will be on the way to making sure we have 6 speakers on the programme.

Look Whats Ahead....

On July 2nd 2012 we will be streaming LIVE Recovery Conference – Simpson House  This is very exciting as everyone, no matter where they are on July 2nd......can sign on to PC/MAC/iPad....whatever they use and will be able to watch LIVE.

Another exciting conference we have planned is Working with Children and Young People Conference  This is a FREE conference to attend.  Again we have venue tickets and online tickets.  This makes it accessible to everyone.

We have many ideas about having sponsors for each seat we can provide.  As a seat is sponsored, we can offer this free for someone to attend the venue.  A sponsor will have their business promoted in the venue/online programme, a link to their website added to www.onlinevents.co.uk
